My Wonder Woman

"Be with the right guy and you would conquer your fears and be with the right woman and you would conquer the world"- Unknown

I was little unsure if I should write this post, but when I thought about it hell yeah! I have to write this to inspire people out there…… So here you go…. My Women’s day post on the ‘Wonderful woman I know’

She was in her 20’s and just been married. She came from a rural town back in south Tamil Nadu. The new place- Chennai was intimidating, yet she managed to ‘fit in’. She started working as the front office executive in one of the renowned MNC as the family situation demanded it. A year passed and now she started running for two- her and her little daughter. She was smart, funny, beautiful, lovable and charming and any guy would want her, except the one who married her!

They tried to fight and hold back the relationship, but things never seemed to fall in place for the both of them. They came from two different worlds and unfortunately their worlds never coincided anywhere. But she was bold enough to break the taboo the society had on the word ‘divorce’ three decades back. She let it go and that’s when she knew her life would be, could be and should be ‘this way’.

She started fighting. Fighting the cruel intentions of the society, fighting her way out of the ‘male dominant’ corporate world back then, fighting the demeaning vultures which was all the time ready to pounce on her and relish every bit of her and above all she fought to survive. All for just one reason- her cute little princess. Irony is she even had to fight to keep her daughter with her.

All she did was fight- fight her way up. Her favourite all time quote was "Arise, Awake and stop not till your goal is reached" by Swami Vivekananda and she lives by those words and did succeed in what she wanted to do. Being a single parent is difficult and when it’s a single mother it’s even more difficult because you have to keep running and protect yourself and the one that’s dependent on you. But the best part is this woman brought up her daughter independently to be another independent, strong lady.

She did multiple jobs: a front office executive, insurance, shares, MLM, a beautician to finally stand her ground as a ‘Corporate trainer’ in success psychology while still pursuing a degree in Civil Law. She did it. But her thirst of knowledge has not stopped with this and when asked she says she still wants to keep doing something that keeps her occupied and happy till her last breath. Amazing! Also she shares few tips to stay merry from her experience:

• Forget the past and forgive the people who hurt you.
• Be thankful for what you have today because today is better than and yesterday and tomorrow is gonna be even better.
• Be humble when life lifts you up and be proud and self- appreciate on the smallest achievements.
• Spread love as it's the very key to life's beautiful things.
• Money is not everything, but good people are.
• Engulf and surround yourself with intelligent people, they help you grow.
• Listen- give heeds to what people have to say. This is a big blessing.
• Stay positive always even when life pushes you down to the depths of darkness. Believe there is always light shining somewhere. All you have to is be patient and positive.
• Respect people for who they are not for what they have.
• Above all, just keep smiling😃

Not only did she concentrate on becoming one of the sought after women entrepreneur/ trainer, she also brought up her daughter in such a way that she is proud of. I would say this is called achievement. Success doesn't come easy, it comes with years of hard work, pain, struggle, fighting but with a heavy dose of love and humbleness.  This woman had it all. Over the years she earned the respect and love of a lot of people who keeps her in their prayers.

She was such a forgiver.  She forgave a lot of people who hurt and humiliated her over the course of years. She loved a lot of people enough for them to hate her too! But ‘what goes around comes back isn't’? Yes, I have witnessed the many people who apologized for hurting her when they realized her worthiness. She never lived or lives for anyone-She lives for herself being thankful for every moment of her life that has made her the person she is today. She has been an inspiration to lots of women out there and been the ‘hope’ for many to strive and hold on to their lives. She is the reason behind me writing this.

She is my inspiration too. SHE is my MOTHER.

I owe my mom a lot in life and she’s been the source of my happiness and strength all these years. I've always felt normal just like the other kids with both parents because ‘she was also the man’!

She taught me to take life as it comes and to forget and forgive things that hurt me but never the lesson learnt out of it. Indeed, she is my 'Wonder Woman' :) :)

I love you mom with all my heart and wish I would be as strong as you and as lovable and forgiving as you.

Happy Women’s day to all the women who’s reading this article and a big thanks to all the men who are very supportive for the women in your lives. Keep rocking ladies!

Good luck ya’ll.
